I have a teething baby, eye teeth, so I have to do everything while nursing or holding him. He doesn't help much lol. So excuse the slowness of adding products. Date: 9/11/2008 Title: Price changes I am sure most everyone has noticed the price increase on some of my diapers. Its because I have started to add some more of the sought after fabric like Bamboo, Hemp and Sherpa. Those fabrics cost about 3xs as much as flannel and terry. So my prices reflect that. However my flannel and terry diapers are still a great economical choice. Also my dryer is fixed...Yea! So I will be washing and drying my bamboo velour tonight and will hopefully have some diapers up soon! I have also added quite a few new items to the store, and will continue to do so over the next few days. Please let me know if there is something you would like to see! Date: 8/16/2008 Title: Blue Flannel Bleeds PSA: some of my blue flannel bleeds if it gets really soaked with pee. I made several diapers for my boys and they only time they bled was when they were totally drenched. It didn't get on any clothes but it turned my boys bits blue! So be warned...change those diapers frequently till the dye is through bleeding lol. I haven't had it bleed on anything other than my boys though. Even in the wash. I had some blue flannel diapers I made 7 years ago. They bled all over my prefolds. This was before the dyed prefolds craze. My beautiful white prefolds were blue! I'm not talking spots here. I mean they were dyed blue. I was so embarrassed when others saw them. Then my friend who used pfs almost exclusively wanted to know where I got them lol. So I have learned from that and really wash my fabrics on hot with vinegar. But these blues seem to bleed with a lot of urine for some reason. Just want to warn people if they get blue kiddos lol. Date: 8/10/2008 Title: Bad week for sewing First my machine got all wonky on me and it took me several attempts to figure out what was wrong. My machine wound my bobbin all crooked. So now there is a new second out there. Then my son threw my camera and broke it. So I had to use a cheap crappy one. Needless to say my pics didn't come out well. I hope to get a new camera soon and will work on better pics with what I have. But I did add that Bees diaper and a Pirate diaper. I have some really beautiful fabric sitting here to work with so I hope my camera cooperates with me and takes some equally beautiful pics. Make sure you go through all 4 pages as I like to just replace what has sold. Its quicker for me that way. I am cleaning up the stock and getting rid of old pics so hopefully the store will be nice and clean :). I am supposed to be moving in 2 weeks...you know how those things go. I have PUL in the mail, colored pul! Very exciting. This will make beautiful sets! Date: 6/24/2008 Title: Upcoming Sale I need to move some stuff out so I am doing a sale. Probably free shipping on everything, I will have to see what my Cart will let me do. I have also changed my tabs. I am only doing the sizing on the inside of the tab so they look nicer. Just thought I would let everyone know before they thought all my diapers have no sizing on them lol. Date: 6/13/2008 Title: Added some more testers Look in the seconds folder for more testers. I have trying out some fleece for wraps. If you get them please let me know how waterproof they are and how the sizing is. They are super stretchy so I think they will big a larger weight range. I can add cross over tabs for you. I normally use Malden Mills fleece so I don't know how this fleece works. I also added momma pads. I have finally had the chance to use mine and they are really nice. I will be adding more soon. Keep an eye out! I have also been selling some of my diapers super cheap on ebay and of course my sets at Creative Mamas Congo at Hyena Cart. We Stock every Friday at noon. I might be adding some testers for burp rags. If anyone has something they would like to see please let me know. Date: 6/12/2008 Title: New instock added I am still sewing with a broken machine. Its going so slow and man it hurts my fingers. I was lent a sewing machine, but no manual. So when I figure out how to use it I will reopen for customs. Sewing is just going so slow I don't want to leave people hanging with their customs for days on end. I have added a bunch of instock and I have more to come. I am still shipping everyday, except weekends. And I do list stuff on Hyena Cart still, if you are looking for sets. I am going to be redoing my cart so that hopfully we won't have shipping overages. Its a finicky calculator so I hope I get all the bugs worked out. Lastly - we are all better here! Yea! What a mos that was! So I am closing to customs until it is fixed. While I can still sew its slow going and I will have to take it in eventually. Repair can take weeks (order the parts, fix it etc). So if this continues to bother me or get worse I am gonna have to get it taken care of. Which means I will have to close for customs while its gone. But right now I am still taking orders and will finish any orders that come in before I took it in. Its an annoying time consuming problem but I am still able to sew. Date: 4/26/2008 Title: Still have 2 momma pads that need tested. They are really nice and really not that gross ;). The pad is in 2 parts. A pad and a liner. Its designed to use both on heavy days, just the pad on medium days and just the liner on light days. The liner has pul on the bottom. It closes with a soft velcro. See, it doesn't sound that bad. Its very absorbant - 3 layers of flannel for the body and 3 layers of terry for the soaker. The liner is 4 layers of flannel and 1 of terry and the bottom is pul. They are soft and pretty. Really. Like my diapers...but for mommas. Come on...I know you want to try them. Don't be scared ;). Date: 4/22/2008 Title: All new flannel added - Still looking for testers I got in new flannel today and its almost all washed. I have already added some to the customs page. Date: 4/7/2008 Title: Nearly out of Terry I have been cleaned out ;). I am nearly out of terry. I am out of white PUL and almost out of micro. I do have some lite blue left. I hope to make some doublers out of the scrapes I have...when my terry comes of course! I also have some Suede coming. Look for more instock. I am adding a Large tonight and I have 2 smalls and 1 more large to add hopefully tomorrow. I also have a second to add soon. While I am waiting for my shipment I will concentrate on Bibs and Bonnets. I also have HUGE bags of scrapes to go through. If anyone has suggestions on what to use them for I am all ears. Date: 3/17/2008 Title: Sorry to keep everyone hanging Of course nothing in life every goes as planned. But I do have PUL in, its beautiful! But now I have no ability to make AIOs! Well I could make them, if I could lol. Right now dh is in the midst of trying to find a job. We are all packed up ready for a move...if we move. I had 3 kids have birthdays this mos, with still my mothers and fils to go. So I am also VERY busy. But I am always able to ship something out. I could do a custom if you needed something but I dont want to put custom slots up if I am gonna be really busy with something else. I am always available by email as well. Date: 12/29/2007 Title: Aios are up, sort of I only have 3 prints right now. Waiting...impatiently...for the rest to come. I have 8 more prints coming. Really should have been here by now if they sent them when they said they did and sent it priority. So hoping Monday now will bring pul. Cause if not then we are looking at Wednesday! I am very excited to annouce that my PUL should be here shortly and I will put up customs for All in Ones. I can do both Quick dry and True All in Ones. They will be $10 and up. Other than that I am back to normal routine now, for the most part. Date: 12/20/2007 Title: Christmas Coming up With Christmas coming up I will be taking a short break. I Won't be working Sunday through Wednesday. Thursday will be back to normal. So if you order between Sunday and Wednesday I will ship again on Thursday, and begin any customs that day. Date: 12/17/2007 Title: New Flannel Prints I got some new flannel prints in. A cute snowflake print, blue and white. A cute sports prints and an adorable blue with whales on it. Its on the fabrics page which you can find under the custom diapers. I tried to get more boy prints, but I was so tempted to buy the cute pink camo print. Date: 12/10/2007 Title: Lots of Sale Stuff I am clearing out some of my stuff to make way for new stuff. My cabinet is over flowing. Check the Seconds page for diapers too. I am no longer doing the uncovered tabs so there is a few diapers in the seconds folder on sale. All my Bedtime Buddies and Boo Boo bags are on sale. You can check out my FAQ for info on my tabs and why I am no longer doing the uncovered ones. Its very important I keep my costs low because I want to provide an inexpensive product for my customers. I don't feel I make art - I make necessities and getting those for your child shouldn't be expensive. Date: 12/6/2007 Title: Fabric I am out of Velour and several of the flannel prints. I will be getting more in soon, but then they have to be washed and dried before they are used. So not till next week at least. When I get more in I will put them up on the picture page. I think at that time I will change my customs to allow only 1 or 2 diapers per fabric. Just cause everyone seems to want the same fabric all the time lol. Date: 11/20/2007 Title: Holiday Prints I am hoping to get some holiday Prints dipes and bibs up this weekend and another blanket and fleece hat set. I know with the cooler weather here everyone is looking for some cute stuff to take baby out in as well as practical gifts. If anyone has any requests please let me know! Date: 11/7/2007 Title: New Flannel I got some new flannel in so I was able to add a few more diapers. There will be more to come. I also added some new fleece hats. If you like these let me know I can get more variety of colors. I was trying to do 2 sewing machines at once. So I didn't have to switch stitches so often. That didn't go over so well because the one is on a wabbly table so when I got going fast I could barely see what I was sewing. Hopefully I will work that out as it will help me go faster. Date: 10/8/2007 Title: New products I added a few more auctions on Ebay. I also started an etsy store: bizzeebees.etsy.com. So you can check out new products there. I also added a few things to the store. I am working on a aplix bag for the stroller. I am gonna test it out first before I start making it to sell. It will be big enough for a prefold, wipe, and plastic bag or as a purse. I am gonna use it for tissues, sunglasses and other stuff that I need readily. My purse is on my back so its hard to get to that stuff so I figured I will make a bag that hangs on the stroller. Once I make sure its tough and make any alterations to the design I will ask for testers. If you are interested in being a tester let me know! Date: 10/4/2007 Title: Sewing Room Makeover Dh today was wonderful enough to rearrange our office. Its where my sewing supplies are. Now I should be able to get more work done. Before I couldn't take the baby in there with me now I have plenty of room for him on the floor while I work. I have a HUGE stack of stuff to sew up. I plan on adding them Sunday. I will also be putting more stuff on Etsy and Ebay. So be on the look out. You can find my ebay userid under the links. Date: 9/24/2007 Title: Auctions were a success Thank-you to everyone who bought on ebay. I cut out a bunch of Sleep Masks and bonnets yesterday. I will work on more products for the store and hopefully some more diapers to be auctioned. I need more flannel for diapers but I have at least 3 more diapers to make up. Everyone here has a cold so it might be slow going getting these up. If Yahoo cooperates I can get a yahoo group up and running. I tried last week and got an error. Date: 9/4/2007 Title: Trying some new products I have added some rice packs - Or Boo Boo Packs as we call them. I would love some input on the size of these, if they need to be bigger. I am offering 1 diaper cover with just aplix tabs, no pul on them. The way I made them reduces the wicking since there is no sewing through the diaper cover. If I get good reviews from this one I will add more of that type. Date: 8/27/2007 Title: The Bizzeest of Bees Ok so school has started, the lazy hazy days of summer are over. I have had little time to work on adding new items to the store. I hope once that we are back in the swing of things I will get some new stuff up. I have pictures of items waiting to be added so I will try to get that on today. But it might be a week or more before I get more items sewn. Date: 7/25/2007 Title: Experimenting I have been experimenting with different stiches. I wanted to see how well a straight stich held the aplix on the bibs. If anyone buys one of each they will have to let me know how each one holds up. Of course all this experimenting has altered my tension so now I have to fix that before I can sew anymore. As a result there will be several new items in the seconds category LOL. |
